Managing Your Mailchimp Account

Managing Your Mailchimp Account

Context

The articles in this "Mailchimp" section refer to situations where Emerge2 Digital created and configured a Mailchimp account for a client, including an initial template and an initial campaign, and then handed the account over to the client to use to send email communications to their customers.

Using Your Mailchimp Account

As you use your Mailchimp Account to prepare and send communications to your customers, there are a variety of Mailchimp articles available to assist you with this, as follows:
  1. Mailchimp Login
  2. Creating a New Mailchimp Campaign
  3. Testing a Mailchimp Campaign (Before Deploying It)
  4. Deploying a Mailchimp Campaign
  5. and others

What Should and Should Not Be Changed

When Emerge2 configured your Mailchimp account, the following parameters were set and should not be changed (without consulting with Emerge2):
  1. Account Username
  2. Account Password
  3. Account Email Address
  4. Security Questions
  5. Domain Name Verification
In addition, do not enable two-factor authentication even if prompted or recommended to do so. Instead, either close the pop-up window or select the skip, ignore, or ask-later option.

Within your Mailchimp account, there are multiple sets of "contact information". For example, on the "Settings / Contact Information" page, there are multiple sets of contact information fields. Please feel free to adjust the contact information under headings "Primary account contact", "Billing info", and "Audiences in this account". Please do not change the data under heading "Profile". In addition, the Email address under heading "Primary account contact" should not be changed (but the other fields under this heading can be adjusted as needed).

When you are creating email campaigns, make sure that you use a From-Address from your organization's domain name. The campaign's From-Address will be seen by your customers and should be a generic email address (e.g. newsletter@, info@, contact@, etc.) using your company's domain name (not a individual person's email address). In addition, the "Contact name" field should contain your organization's name, not the name of the individual who is creating the campaign.
