Replacing Images on Your Bongo4U Site

This article explains how to replace images on your Bongo4U website. If you wish to add a new image, go here. If you wish to delete an image, go here.

In Bongo4U, images are usually added to a page by using WYSIWYG blocks. To learn more about available blocks in Bongo4U, read What Types of Content can be Added to a Page.

Overview: To replace an image on your Bongo4U website, you need to navigate to the page that needs changes, find the WYSIWYG block that contains the image, open the block, remove the old image, choose or upload a new image and then save the changes. The following instructions will guide you through this process.

Log in and Proceed to the Page

Log in to your Bongo4U Website admin area and go to the page you want to add an image to (by clicking that page's link in the navigation).

Remove the Old Image

Find the existing WYSIWYG block containing the image that needs to be replaced. Select Edit.

You will need to remove the old image before adding the new image.

To remove the old image, navigate to the part of the WYSIWYG right after the image you need to replace and click to place the cursor there.
Press Backspace on your keyboard to remove the image (you might need to press one or more times, depending on whether there's any space after the image).

Once the image is gone, your cursor will stay in the spot where the old image used to be.

Proceed with the steps below to add a replacement image.

Add a Replacement Image

Click the Image icon (a picture of a tree) from the WYSIWYG control panel to add the new image.

An Insert/Edit Image pop-up window will open.

Notes
If the Insert/Edit Image window does not open, then you probably have pop-ups disabled. Check for a message near the top of the page from your web browser and select the option that enables pop-ups from the current site (permanently) so that you can edit your WYSIWYG page content. Once enabled, you might need to click on the Image icon (a picture of a tree) again.

Insert/Edit Image pop-up window

Click the "Get Image" link in the Insert/Edit Image window.

You will see the Select or Upload Images window open at the Browse tab that lists all the images that have been previously uploaded to your site. To use one of these existing images, click its filename within the list of existing images.

Browse tab with previously uploaded images

Or, to upload a new image, click the "Upload" tab near the top and follow the Upload Files instructions.

After you have uploaded and/or selected the desired image file, you will be returned to the first pop-up window (where the "Get Image" link is).

Enter a short Image Description (and/or Title) for this image. Users will see this text when they hover over the image, assistive devices will use this text, and search engines will also use this text.

Populating image Description and Title

Click the [Insert] button near the bottom, and your image will be added to your page at the insert location (you might need to scroll down or resize the window to see the button).

Once you are done inserting the new image, save the changes to your WYSIWYG block by clicking the [Save Changes] button (otherwise, your changes will be lost).
