Processing a Shopping List submitted to Your Store (Impact Non-Transactional)

Non-Transactional or Transactional Catalog

These instructions are for an Impact Non-Transactional catalog (Fresh Start). If you have an Impact Transactional catalog (Endless Aisle), then click here.

Shopping List Handling Process

When a customer submits a shopping list from your online catalog, the catalog will email a notification to a predetermined address to inform you (the merchant) about the new shopping list.

When you, as the dealer, receive such shopping list notifications, you should log in to your catalog's (Elastic Path) Admin area to review the shopping list.

Find the shopping list in the "Orders / Orders" section. In a Non-Transactional catalog, the customers submit what is called a "Shopping List" (not an Order). However, within the Elastic Path system, everything is internally called an "order".

Review the shopping list information to determine if you will respond to or reject it. Consider all of the information provided, such as whether it looks like someone just entered random or bogus text  (e.g. "Mickey Mouse") or email address (e.g. "test@test.com"), and read the notes in the "Sent List Note" section of the order. In other words, does it look like a valid shopping list that you wish to respond to?

Valid Shopping Lists

The products (SKUs) that the customer has requested are listed under the "Order Items" heading.

Once you have reviewed the list of requested items, reach out to the dealer by email or phone (if provided), inform of the final total for their Shopping List and arrange for them to pick up their requested items in the store.

Elastic Path does not allow you to mark Shopping lists as fulfilled, so their status will remain Incomplete within the admin system.

Rejected Shopping Lists

You are not required to cancel Shopping Lists in Elastic Path; however, it is a good way to keep track of accepted vs rejected shopping lists.

For a shopping list that you decide to reject, open it in Elastic Path in the "Orders / Orders" section. In the top right-hand of the page, select three vertical dots and choose Cancel Order. If prompted, confirm the cancellation.

Now the Status of the shopping list will change from Incomplete to Cancelled.
