Typically, stores provide contact information on their websites so that users can get in touch with them when they have a question about their business, products, services, etc.
This contact information usually includes:
- Store Address
- Phone Number
- Email Address
Some Impact eCommerce dealers don't want their email address to be visible on the website (e.g. on the Contact page) and that's okay.
However, Orgill's Impact eCommerce solution requires dealers to have website policies (e.g. a privacy policy). And those policies require an email address as one of the means of contact.
What if you don't want to display your store email address in these policies?
Possible Workaround for Email Address in Website Policies
Dealers participating in Orgill's Impact eCommerce program are required to have website policies (Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Cookie Policy, etc.). These policies protect website owners and their users. They are prepared by Termly, experts in generating policies for websites.
Unfortunately, providing an email address for these policies is not optional.
Creating a Separate Email Address for Website Policies
If you do not wish to use your store email address for your website policies, you can create a separate email address from one of the many free email providers (e.g. gmail.com), and use that email address in your website policies. This way you won't have to display your usual store email address anywhere in the policies.
After the separate email address is created, you will probably want to forward all incoming mail from this separate email address to your usual store email address. Once automatic forwarding from this separate email address to your usual store email address is set up, then you should not need to periodically log into, and/or monitor, this separate email address. The legal/privacy messages should be forwarded to your usual store email address.
Gmail.com Instructions
There are many free email providers that you could use. You will probably want a provider that allows the automatic forwarding of email to a different email address (as described above).
Once you have a separate email address for Website Policies ready, please provide this separate email address to Emerge2 so that Termly can generate the required policies for your website.
