Where to Update a Store Address when it Changes (Impact)
Whenever a store's physical address changes, such a change needs to be applied to multiple online systems.
This help article is in the context of an Impact eCommerce site, but the concepts are similar for other types of sites.
This is not a complete list, but it is a start...
- All public website pages that display your store address(es), such as:
- The page header
- The page footer
- Somewhere on the Home page
- Somewhere on the Contact page
- If the address of your legal business registration changes, then log into the Termly system, update your address in the "Business Information" section, and regenerate all of your Termly policies
- If the contact information used in your "Privacy policy" changes, then log in to the Termly system, update the Privacy policy, and regenerate it
- The "Locations Data" section within Builder.io contains the physical address and hours for each of your store locations. You might need to request Emerge2 or Orgill to make this change.
- Your various social media accounts, if they publicly display your store locations
- Your Google business profile
- Any other online accounts that display your store locations
- For Transactional(*) Impact sites:
- The Termly "Returns policy" contains an address to send returns to. If that changes, then log in to the Termly system, update the Returns policy, and regenerate it
- The Avalara sales tax calculation subsystem. You will need to request Emerge2 or Orgill to make this change (it is a central system that is not available to dealers).
- The FedEx system does not record each store address and therefore does not need to have store addresses updated within it. It only has your general contact information in its account data.
(*) Transactional sites have a checkout area where customers pay for their order when it is submitted. This includes Impact eCommerce tiers: Endless Aisle, Full Service, and Enterprise.
