Deleting Text from Your Impact Site

Add, Replace, or Delete

This article explains how to delete existing text from your Impact website. If you wish to add new text, go here. If you wish to replace existing text, go here.

Overview: You first need to find the website page that contains the text to be deleted, find the associated Text block, and delete it. The following instructions will guide you through this process.

Which Admin Area

Orgill’s Impact eCommerce system has two Admin areas (Elastic Path and Builder.io). All content edits, such as deleting text, happen in Builder.io. If you don’t have a Builder.io login yet, refer to Requesting a Builder.io Login.

Finding the Website Page

Log in to Builder.io and navigate to: Content > Content Type > Page models > Page. You will see an area with a list of all your website pages on the right.



Click on the name of the page you’d like to edit to open the Visual Editor.



Below are the instructions on how to use the Visual Editor to remove text from your page.

There are two ways to remove text in Builder.io:
  1. Use Option A to remove individual words or phrases from a paragraph or sentence.
  2. Use Option B to delete a whole block of text.

Option A - Remove Individual Words Or Phrases

Use this option if you'd like to remove individual words or phrases from within a block of text.

Click on the Text block in the work area to select it.

Go to the Options tab on the right and remove the parts of text that are no longer needed by selecting them one-by-one and pressing Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.


Once all the text you no longer need is deleted, select [Publish Update] in the top right corner.

Option B - Remove an Entire Text Block

Use this option if you'd like to remove a whole block of text.

Hover over the text in the work area to see the blue Text indicator.


Once you see the blue Text indicator, click inside the area with your existing text. You will see the interface change as follows:



Click on the V icon to open the menu and select Delete:




Once the unneeded Text block(s) have been deleted, select [Publish Update] in the top right corner.

Delayed Update

It might take a while for the changes to appear on your public website. Due to caching, you might still see an old version of the public content for a few hours or a day, even though the updated version can be seen within the Builder.io admin area.
