Deleting Images from Your Impact Site
Add, Replace, or Delete
This article explains how to
delete an existing image or photo from your Impact website. If you wish to
add a new image, go
here. If you wish to
replace an existing image, go
here.
Overview: You first need to find the website page that contains the image to be deleted, find the associated Image block, and delete it. The following instructions will guide you through this process.
Which Admin Area
Orgill’s Impact eCommerce system has two Admin areas (Elastic Path and Builder.io). All content edits, such as image changes, happen in
Builder.io. If you don’t have a Builder.io login yet, refer to
Requesting a Builder.io Login.
Finding the Website Page
Log into Builder.io and navigate to:
Content >
Content Type >
Page models >
Page. You will see an area with a list of all your website pages on the right.
Click on the name of the page you’d like to edit to open the Visual Editor.
Below are the instructions on how to use the Visual Editor to remove images from your page.
There are two ways to remove images in Builder.io:
Use Option A to delete the uploaded image from one page only.
Use Option B to remove the uploaded image from your website forever.
Option A - Delete the Image from One Page
Use this option if you'd like to remove the image from one page only (you can still re-use it on other pages).
- Click on the Image in the work area to select it.
- Press Delete on your keyboard.
- Once all the images are deleted, select [Publish Update] in the top right corner.
Option B - Delete the Image From the Site Forever
Use this option if you'd like to remove the image from your website completely (you won't be able to re-use it).
First, you need to start with removing image from all the pages (see Option A).
Once done with removing the image from individual pages, proceed as follows:
- Go to the Asset Library: https://builder.io/app/asset-library
- Find your photo within the Asset Library.
- Click the Trash icon on the image you wish to delete from your website forever.
If you failed to removed the image from other pages on your site before completing this step, those pages will be showing empty space or an error instead of the image.
Delayed Update
It might take a while for the changes to appear on your public website. Due to caching, you might still see an old version of the public content for a few hours or a day, even though the updated content is visible within the Builder.io admin area.
