Checkout Error "An exact street name match could not be found..." (Impact)
This help article is related to a customer receiving the following error message during the checkout of a cart on a transactional Impact site:
"An exact street name match could not be found and phonetically matching the street name resulted in either no matches or matches to more than one street name."
This error can be generated from the sales tax calculation subsystem (Avalara) that is used by the transactional tiers of the Impact eCommerce system.
Avalara uses the USPS system to validate physical addresses in the United States and the Canada Post system to validate physical addresses in Canada. Only addresses that USPS or Canada Post have within their national address databases will work.
Avalara validates the following two physical addresses during the checkout process:
- The store address that was previously recorded within the Avalara system for this merchant. If the customer selects "Pick-up in store" and the store has multiple locations, the physical store address that is being validated is the one associated with the store location the customer selected.
- The physical address that the customer entered during checkout (which we have no control over).
When you receive a report of this error from a customer, please ask the customer to take a screenshot of the error and of the physical address that the customer has entered into the system. Then forward the customer's information and screenshots by email to
Emerge2 Support.
