Cannot Access Google Maps

Cannot Access Google Maps

Context

If you are logged into your Google account and try to use Google Maps, but receive an error message something like this:
We are sorry, but you do not have access to Google Maps.
Please contact your Organization Administrator for access.
And if your email address does not end in "@gmail.com," then this article might be of assistance to you.

Details

If you are using a Google Workplace / G-Suite / Google Apps service on your organization's domain name, then an Administrator of your Google account must enable access to "Google Maps" since this access is often disabled by default.

How to Enable Access to Google Maps

  1. An Administrator of your organization's Google account must log into their Google account. The user you log in with must have administrative permission to your organization's Google account.
  2. Go to the Google Admin Console (admin.google.com), e.g. from Google Mail: click the gear icon followed by the [Manage this organization] button.
  3. Click [Apps]
  4. Click [Additional Google servers]
  5. Scroll down to the "Google Maps" line, hover over this line, click the 3-dots menu on this line ("...") and select "Turn ON for everyone"
That's it.

Try accessing Google Maps again from a non-Administrator login.
