How To Prevent Google Calendar Spam
What is Calendar Spam, and how does it happen?
Calendar Spam occurs when seemingly random invitations and appointments appear in your Google Calendar, even if you never accepted them.
The following instructions will help you reduce the chances of these unwanted invitations and appointments.
Using Chrome or Firefox from a PC / Mac
- Tap the settings icon on the top-right of your page.
- Click 'Settings' from the dropdown.
- Select 'Event Settings' on the left side menu bar.
In the drop-down menu for 'Add invitations to my calendar' choose "Only if the sender is known."
Click 'OK' when you see the following notification.
A new check box will appear 'Let others see all invitations if they have permission to view or edit my events'
You can leave this checked (enabled); It is normal behavior.
You will likely still get invitations from unknown senders; however, the events will only appear on their calendars if they are accepted.
